Celebrating 14 Years in our Community!

What's On The Street?

NEW! Exciting news for The Word On The Street Kitchener.  This year The Word On The Street will take a new direction that focuses on actively engaging festival goers in all things literacy. We are moving away from the traditional exhibitor component and putting a whole new twist on the event. Throughout the downtown core we are going to program a variety of activities in various businesses for people to enjoy and be a part of. Check back soon for more information on this exciting new element of the event.

Downtown Kitchener welcomes The Word On The Street!  Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2014 for a day jam packed of author readings, poetry, author talks, play writes, music and children's activities in a number of locations in downtown Kitchener.

The Word On The Street festival relies on dedicated volunteers to make this event a success. There are a variety of volunteer roles to sign up for from pre-festival administrative tasks, to on-site talent liaison positions, and hands-on site set-up.
