Celebrating 15 Years in our Community!

What's On The Street?

We've completed another chapter of The Word On The Street Kitchener. Thanks to the many who attended to make this past year our biggest to date! The sun was shining, people were smiling, and the author readings were mesmerizing!

A big thank you goes out to our sponsors and literacy groups who helped make the 14th annual The Word On The Street a great success! We would also like to thank Entertaining Elements, Imbibe, Kava Bean Commons, Matter of Taste, and Alternatives Journal for participating as an official venue, hosting additional activities and readings throughout the downtown core!

The Word on the Street is an annual one-day national book and magazine family festival celebrating literacy and the written arts. The Word on the Street promotes the importance of literacy with free performances and hands-on activities.

NEW! Exciting news for The Word On The Street Kitchener.  This year The Word On The Street will take a new direction that focuses on actively engaging festival goers in all things literacy.

We are working with some of our downtown partners to create a new component to the festival... The Word On The Street Bites.

Join us at participating coffee shops, restaurants and The Kitchener Market for a stellar line-up of authors, poets, meet & greets, bloggers, workshops and book signings.  Have a bite to eat and experience the written word and downtown Kitchener in a whole new way!

Come and enjoy all the great things you loved about The Word On The Street festival with a brand new twist!
