  • 11:00 :: Toastmasters

    Join us for the zany, interruptive banter of Just a Minute. Hear some pretty Tall Tales. Pick up Information on boosting your self-confidence through Toastmasters communication and leadership training.

  • 12:15 :: City of Kitchener Artist in Residence

    Join Stefan A. Rose, 2010 City of Kitchener Artist in Residence, as he explores the Grand River landscape in an ongoing series of poems. These poems are also being used with photographs as advertising panels inside Grand River Transit buses in September. The project will conclude with an exhibition at the Rotunda Gallery in Kitchener City Hall in December 2010. www.grandconversations@live.ca.

  • 1:30 :: New Quarterly

    Editors of The New Quarterly will launch their summer Extra, a gathering of writers on anything (and everything!) but writing, and answer your questions about what literary magazines are, their importance within the larger literary culture, why they make an exciting read, and how you might approach them with your own writing.

  • 2:45 :: Songwriters Showcase

    Join singer, song writer, recording artist Tyler Schwende and local artists in an interactive songwriter's circle. Tyler and his musical guests will alternate playing 3 songs as well as talking in detail about the ins and outs of writing music.

  • 4:00 :: Louise Penny

    Good Reads are short books for adult literacy learners, written by bestselling Canadian authors. Louise Penny, award-winning author of the Inspector Armand Gamache mystery series, reads from The Hangman and talks about the unique challenges of writing a Good Reads book.
