The Word On The Street is a great place for families to discover or rediscover the joy of reading.

 

Visit Treasure Island, a youth stage, where children can listen to authors read from there latest books. You can follow the adventures of 3 little boys as they help the Saskatchewan Roughriders make the playoffs. Learn how to stay safe in a fire from Saskatoon's own Captain Ed. Rediscover Christmas traditions and the meaning of love and family. Listen to the story of a young aboriginal boy who finds friendship and acceptance in unexpected places. This is only a small sample of what's in store for those who venture to Treasure Island.

It is a wonderful adventure for young readers who struggle with bullying and rejection For teens, you will find your favourite local authors on the stages - then for a real treat come and listen to Sask@teens - Saskatoon's next generation of authors. Local teens will share their original writing - moving, funny, dark, whimsical. Hear from this very talented group of up and comers!

 

And that's not all - there will be roaming performers, local mascots, craft stations and sidewalk games - fun for everyone.
