Help us in our efforts to showcase the rich diversity of Canada’s publishing community by participating in our Adopt an Author campaign this year!

Every year, The Word On The Street turns Queen’s Park into a book and magazine lover’s paradise by showcasing Canada’s hottest new books & authors, as well as the best Canadian magazines!  Last year, we had over 200,000 visitors to the festival, who came to enjoy the 247 authors and presenters appearing at the festival, and to shop in our Exhibitor Marketplace featuring 274 book & magazine exhibitors -- it's the world's biggest outdoor bookstore!

The Word On The Street is a non-profit organization, and the only reason we can come back bigger and better each year is through the support of our community. Adopt an Author is a yearly fundraising campaign, hosted by The Word On The Street Canada in cooperation with The Word On The Street Toronto, that provides literary lovers with the opportunity to get more involved with the festival and to show support for both the festival and our wonderful Canadian authors!

How it works

You can adopt an author with a $100 contribution to the The Word On The Street Toronto!

With this contribution you will receive:

• The opportunity to adopt an author of your choice from the provided list of available authors
• A signed copy of the book with the opportunity to have it signed by the author at the festival after their reading/presentation!
• Recognition for your contribution at the festival. Your name will be announced by the host prior to your author’s reading
• Recognition on our website and e-newsletter
• A personalized certificate detailing your adoption
• A tax receipt
• A chance to be a part of Canada’s largest one-day festival!

You can adopt as many authors as you’d like, and each author can be adopted twice.  It makes a great gift for your friends, family or for yourself.
