Dominique Fortier was born in 1972. She obtained a Ph.D. in literature from McGill University, and is a respected editor and literary translator. On the Proper Use of Stars, her debut novel, was first published in Quebec in 2008. It is being adapted for the screen by Jean-Marc Vallee (C.R.A.Z.Y., The Young Victoria). James Funnyhat is a Toronto-based children’s musician and storyteller who performs for thousands of kids every year in schools, day care centres, libraries, birthday parties, and special events. He plays accordion, guitar, and djembe drum, in his warm, humorous, and extremely interactive shows. He was awarded a Canada Counsel of the Arts grant to produce his CD of stories, ‘Miracles, Kings, & Banana Peels.’ See him perform in The Children’s Activity Tent at 4:45. |
