George McWhirter

George McWhirter is a writer, teacher, translator and editor. He was Vancouver's first Poet Laureate and was head of the UBC Creative Writing Department for 10 years. He is the author of more than 20 books of poetry, fiction and translations and the recipient of numerous awards. George McWhirter is the co-editor of and the principal translator for Homero Aridjis’s Eyes to See Otherwise, originally published by New Directions. The translation appeared in PRISM international.
